Nokia 5800 update
Hello Nokia!
You gave us a great mobile 5800XM,we were pleased at the first touchscreen symbian. No thing can beat it.Its a great value phone for every penny spent on it.But the thing was then known as “lab rat phone” to the users
.You just made the phone to test the market about touchscreen success.
We are not hurted that much bcoz 5800 is not that dumb phone
.But the blow starts after the successors release.I am not considering the high end one’s like N97,N97 mini and X6.I am considering the cheap things which have 3g and dont have 3g
Nokia 5530XM Non 3g,Non gps phone:

Have a look at its homescreen
scrollable 20 contacs and music widget for a non 3g phone
.
Nokia 5230 No wifi phone :

Wow Great Nokia
you got the 5800 design wow but where the hell is the same homescreen for 5800
Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic released after 5530:

see the homescreen how ugly it is than the two phones above
These phones screen were more eye candy and cool looking than the first phone WTF!. An non 3g and non wifi phone having cool looking homescreen but a phone which have features included dont have simply Great! We hoped that you will be giving us that too since its just a firmware long! but till now no visibility of firmware update
. If you dont provide a firmware update give a clear statement
“Hey 5800 users no firmware updates for you”
but dont make us wait, wait and wait…. still hoping you will give a update!
-From a true Nokia 5800 Lover.

Note:Still hope you will give us a update

i am waiting for KS and homescreen update since september (i think). and keep on waiting waiting waiting and still nothing. i just owned an ipod touch 3g this december. and really, i wanted to throw my 5800 away. and im thinking for any trade in maybe 5530 or e71. but 5530, i think there is some flaw also because my mom owns one and sometimes the kS is not really friendly and when you look at the scrollng it feels like your really dizzy. and about e71 i really like the design but the only thing i dont like is the 2.5mm audio jack. thats all mybe next tym if im going to get a cellphone maybe it would be nokia but not a touch screen phone but i think i will change to another brand.

we need to bomb Nokia with emails telling our indignation about 5800. we dont deserve this. this is only marketing strategy to buy other nokia touch phones.

Thanks Siraj for confirming….One of my friend who has Nokia 5800xm was not able to to it the way it is explained at symbian freak.
He was not able to create the access point on phone which require to enter proxy address & number!!!
Is there a easy way to do it specifically for 5800, if so can you please guide?
What is your experience with net on phone (speed, any abnormal net termination etc) using this method
Thanks again for this site which provide valuable information for Nokia 5800….please keep the momentum going with more tips/ tricks/ guides & applications for this phone, so that it can become one stop for all Nokia 5800 users…..;)
